AGs reveals Sepal’s monthly revenue from videos in court

Presenting facts before the courts on the case against political Youtuber Sepal Amarasinghe, Senior Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris told courts that Amarasinghe had earned around USD 45 500 annually after releasing 779 videos on social media. He said Amarasinghe had made Rs. 1 450 000 a month through the work.

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court remanded Amarasinghe yesterday until 17 January. The Youtuber has been arrested over the recent controversial statements he made about the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy.

The Mahanayake Theras had written to President Ranil Wickremesinghe about Amarasinghe and requested he takes action against him.
