"Current State Of Happiness Temporary: Economy Still In Dire Straits": Champika Ranawaka Warns

MP Patali Champika Ranawaka, the leader of the ‘43rd Brigade’, has warned that the current temporary happiness enjoyed by the people may have long-term consequences. Speaking at a recent event, Ranawaka reminded voters to consider the results of their choices at the ballot box.

According to Ranawaka, the absence of queues, availability of gas, 24-hour electricity supply, and preparations for annual festivals such as Vesak have contributed to a sense of temporary happiness among the population. However, he cautioned that this happiness may be short-lived.

Ranawaka explained that the government has been able to import fuel and medicines without using dollars by banning 1200 imported goods and saving dollars. While this has allowed for the current state of happiness, he warned that debts are not being paid as they were before.

It remains to be seen how the situation will develop and whether Ranawaka’s warnings will be heeded by the population.
