Former minister and national organizer of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, Basil Rajapaksa, has left for Dubai with his wife.

According to sources, he left the island early on May 7th on a flight belonging to Emirates Airlines. It is said that he will be traveling to America from Dubai.

A spokesperson for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has confirmed that Rajapaksa will return to the island within this month, after completing his visit.

Rajapaksa is a dual citizen of Sri Lanka and the US, and his country continues to live in the US.
