Police Believe the 22-year-old woman who went missing in Gampola may have been murdered and buried in coconut grove

The police received a complaint about the woman's disappearance, which stated that she went missing only 100 meters away from her home while she was walking to her workplace. Following the complaint, the police arrested and questioned a young man who tended to goats in connection with the disappearance.

During the interrogation, the young man revealed that the woman had been killed. The police found the girl's sandals, a water bottle, and a part of an umbrella in a nearby forest, close to where the young woman was allegedly murdered and buried.

According to the police, the arrested young man admitted to killing the woman after she refused his advances. He dragged her to a forest area and murdered her. The police have detained the suspect and launched a further investigation into the incident.

The discovery of the young woman's body has left the local community in shock and mourning. The police have appealed to the public to come forward with any information that may help the investigation.
