UPFA has been able to take control over the result of the Badulla District as they managed to win Passara, Wiyaluwa and Mahiyangane polling divisions with margins well over 3000 votes.

While UPFA managed to obtain the majority of votes in Bandarawela, Haputale, Uva Paranagama and Bibile, he UNP secured victories at Welimada, Badulla and Hali-Ela polling divisions
The ruling UPFA managed to win Bandarawela polling division by only 280 votes.
UPFA was able to secure 209 056 votes and with nine members elected and UNP obtained 197 708 votes and eight members elected. JVP also obtained one seat from the Badulla District.
