Several key political groups in Sri Lanka have come together to launch a new coalition named 'Sarvajana Balaya.' The agreement was signed in Colombo on Monday morning by prominent leaders.
Dilith Jayaweera, leader of the Mawbima Janatha Pakshaya and a well-known businessman, spearheaded the initiative. The coalition includes MP Wimal Weerawansa from the National Freedom Front, D. V. D. Thilakasiri from the Democratic Leftist Front, MP Udaya Gammanpila from the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya, G. Weerasinghe from the Communist Party of Sri Lanka, and Gevindu Kumaratunga from the Yuthukama National Organization. Additionally, MP Channa Jayasumana signed on behalf of the Independent MPs Forum.
