India's Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary Muralidhar Rao said that the resolution of Sri Lanka's Tamil problem is only through devolution. He was addressing a press briefing earlier today.
He urged the Sri Lankan government to restart the dialogue with the Tamil leaders immediately.
Rao undertook a visit to Sri Lanka with the Global Convener BJP Overseas Affairs Vijay Jolly to participate in the 8th General Assembly of International Conference of Asian Political Parties at Colombo held recently. Rao also said "finishing of terrorism should not be taken as finishing of the whole issue."
"While interacting with the leaders of the Tamil ethnic community in Sri Lanka, it has come to the notice that the resolution of the Tamil problem is only through devolution," he said.
At a meeting with the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa while in Sri Lanka, BJP General Secretary had stressed that dialogue with the main Tamil party in Sri Lanka Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and other representatives of the Tamil community should be restarted immediately.
