Fairly Heavy Showers Expected Across the Island Starting November 13

The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory as a low-pressure area is expected to form over the southwest Bay of Bengal today, November 12. The system is likely to bring unsettled weather conditions across Sri Lanka from tomorrow, November 13, with afternoon thundershowers anticipated in most regions.

Northern Province will experience several spells of showers, while other areas of the island may see showers or thundershowers in the evening or night. Fairly heavy rainfall, potentially exceeding 50 mm, is expected in parts of the Eastern, Central, Uva, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces.

Additionally, misty conditions are likely to affect parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, as well as Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.
