Police have arrested three people in Balathotaella, Welimada, for illegally excavating in search of antiques.

The suspects, identified as residents of Welimada and Mahiyanganaya, were found in possession of tools used for the excavation.

Authorities have handed the suspects over to the Welimada Police, where further investigations are underway.
