The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) have arrested three people for sharing social media content related to the banned LTTE organization.

The suspects, aged 28, 35, and 45, are residents of Maradana, Chunnakam, and Baddegama. Police reports says that they circulated photos and videos of LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran and shared old footage from previous LTTE Maaveerar Naal commemorations, falsely portraying it as content from this year.

They face charges of inciting public unrest, promoting a proscribed organization, and spreading false information under Section 120 of the Penal Code and Section 27 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
