Reuters, quoting Sri Lanka's Disaster Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, said more than 100 believed to be killed form landslide in the hill country - which occurred early this morning.
According to the statistics of the government, nearly 350 people are trapped under the rubble or missing.

Sri Lankan media dubs this as the biggest natural disaster that hit Sri Lanka after Tsunami which devastated the coastal line of Sri Lanka in 2004.
However, DMC authorities have warned the public that if inclement weather conditions continue for the next 24 hours. there is a possibility of landslides in Badulla, Bandarawela, Ella, Passara, Uva-paranagama, Haldummulla, Haputale and Haliela.
Rescue missions were interrupted throughout the day due to heavy rains, DMC sources also added.
Army, Navy and Air Force personnel have been deployed to assist the rescue teams who are in search of missing persons.
