The search for the missing at the landslide site in Meeriyabedda, Koswatta, is continuing despite the inclement weather conditions, media reports say.
A sixth body was found on Sunday, increasing the number of bodies recovered during the rescue operations to 6.
Thirty other people are still unaccounted for, BBC reported last night.
Meanwhile, speaking to BBC, Disaster Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera praised the effort of the military which was conducting the search and rescue operations despite the inclement weather and the risk of further landslides.
The Minister also added that the authorities were taking steps to provide land for those who have been displaced.
The landslide which struck the Meeriyabaddawatta on Wednesday (October 29) morning sent shock waves across the country. It was initially thought that as much as 200 people might be missing, buried under the mud. However, when the chaotic situation cleared, it was found that the missing number was much less.
