"I Have Nothing To Do With The Protest Outside Dialog": Harsha

November 28, 2014
UNP National List Parliamentarian Dr. Harsha de silva today distanced himself from the protest which took place outside the Dialog office yesterday.

Issuing a statement on the matter, a short while ago, the Parliamentarian asserted "he said what he had to say" over the controversy.

"This is to inform everyone that I had absolutely nothing to do with a protest that had taken place outside Dialog yesterday. I said what I had to say and that is it. All what I want is for Dr Hans Wijesuriya not to be dictated to by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission which does not have any role in regulating content. I want Dialog, a public company, to act the way it is supposed to; that is, not to be politically biased," Dr. de Silva added.

The controversy arose when Dialog Axiata allegedly interrupted transmission of Sirasa onn Dialog TV while a political programme attended by common candidate Maithripala Sirisena and his representatives was being aired.
