No-confidence Motion Against PM Handed Over To General Secretary Of Parliament (See Document)

The no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was handed over to Parliament General Secretary Dhammika Dissanayake a short while ago.

The motion was signed by 112 MPs.

A group of MPs visited Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa last evening at Hambantota to obtain his approval for the motion.

A meeting of party leaders of the opposition was held today under the patronage of Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva. The motion was handed over to Dissanayake after the meeting, UPFA MP Manusha Nanayakkara told Asian Mirror.

The no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister was compiled on several grounds, including his conduct during the Central Bank Treasury Bond issue controversy.
