Police arrested eight individuals over the attack at a nightclub in Anuradhapura on Saturday night, which saw its owner being killed and three others injured.
Around 20 masked men stormed into the club in the Kadapanaha area in Anuradhapura at about 11.45pm on Saturday night. Wasantha Soysa, a Guinness World Record holding Karate Champion, died in the attack.
Meanwhile, preliminary inquiries into the incident has revealed that the attack was a result of a personal dispute.
Gampola Vidanage Samantha Kumara alias Wele Suda was sentenced to death by Colombo High Court judge Preethi Padman Surasena.
He was found guilty of possession and peddling 7.05g of heroin.
Wele Suda was brought to the country from Pakistan early this year.

The Minuwangoda Magistrate today remanded Saman Jayalath, the elder brother of ‘Kondaya’, till October 19, after he confessed to the murder and sexual assault on a five-year-old girl in Kotadeniyawa.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) this morning (05) informed the Court that the elder brother of Kondaya has confessed to the murder. The suspect was arrested on October 3.
His brother was also remanded earlier in the day.
The CID informed the Minuwangoda Magistrate's Court that Saman Jayalath, the brother of 'Kondaya' confessed to the killing of the five-year-old girl in Kotadeniyawa.
Both the brothers were brought to the Magistrate's Court this morning.
Dunesh Priyashantha, alias Kondaya, was remanded till today when he was produced at the Magistrate's Court after his arrest. His brother was arrested last week and was kept under detention orders.
A body with cut wounds was found early this morning at the Royal Colombo Golf Club premises, Police said.
The body was found at around 6.05am.
The deceased individual is Chaminda Perera, a worker at the golf club.
Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that Perera had arrived at the site at 9pm yesterday. His motorbike was also found at the site.
Police on last evening revealed the identity of the suspect recently arrested regarding the murder of a five-year-old girl in Kotadeniyawa.
Accordingly, this suspect is Saman Jayalath, a brother of the main suspect Dunesh Priyashantha, alias Kondaya.
Minuwangoda Additional Magistrate allowed the CID to detain him for a further 72 hours, when he was produced before the Magistrate's Court yesterday.
The 17-year-old schoolboy and the other individual who were in custody for the death of the 5-year-old Seya Sadewmi in Kotadeniyawa, were remanded again till October 2 by the Minuwangoda Magistrate.
The DNA reports on the two individuals have not been submitted to the Magistrate's Court to date.
The main suspect for the crime, an individual known as 'Kondaya', was recently remanded until October 5.
The mother of the 17-year-old boy has promised to seek compensation for the arrest of her son as a suspect.
The individual who was arrested in relation to the murder of a 10-year-old schoolboy in Kapurugoda, Panagoda, was remanded until October 7 by the Homagama Magistrate.

An unidentified man who arrived on a motorcycle robbed a private bank at Dharmapala Mawatha in Colombo 07 this morning, the Police said.
It is estimated that the bank had been robbed of Rs. 5.5 million.
The robber had assaulted two security guards at the bank using a weapon and had made off with the money.
