Janashakthi Life, a leading brand in the insurance industry and the flagship life insurance brand of JXG (Janashakthi Group), extended its community engagement efforts to Jaffna during the Nallur Festival. Through a 10-day initiative, the company connected with more than 7,000 individuals and families across the region, raising awareness of life protection and financial security while providing employment opportunities.

The first five days featured a door-to-door outreach programme in Chunnakam, Sanganai, Navarkuzhi, Kokkuvil and Gurunagar. Janashakthi Life representatives met residents to discuss life protection and better understand the needs of individuals and families in these communities.

During the following five days, Janashakthi Life operated a dedicated stall near the Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, providing an accessible point of contact for pilgrims and visitors attending the festival. Representatives offered personalised guidance on life insurance and protection solutions, helping visitors consider options suited to their circumstances and family needs.

The initiative formed part of Janashakthi Life’s 32nd anniversary celebrations and Insurance Month. It brought the company’s message of life protection to Jaffna during one of the Northern Province’s most significant cultural celebrations. The Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil holds deep social and cultural importance for people in the Jaffna Peninsula, while the annual festival brings together devotees from the region and around the world.

Recognising the festival’s significance, Janashakthi Life used the occasion to engage directly with the community and encourage conversations about protecting individuals and families.

Commenting on the initiative, Ravi Liyanage, Director and CEO of Janashakthi Insurance PLC, said: “At Janashakthi Life, our role extends beyond providing insurance. It is about being present in the communities we serve and helping them celebrate their cultural beliefs while also initiating conversations around bringing protection into their lives. Initiatives such as these reflect our continued commitment to reaching communities across the country and helping more individuals and families plan secure futures.”

The 10-day programme reflects Janashakthi Life’s continued focus on community engagement and its purpose of “Uplifting Lives and Empowering Dreams”. By reaching people where they live, work and gather, the company aims to increase awareness of the importance of protecting families and their aspirations for the future.

Janashakthi Life, the flagship life insurance company of JXG, has served Sri Lankans since 1994. Licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka, it operates through a network of more than 76 branches across the island and provides life insurance solutions to individuals and families.
