Lanka Spice (Pvt) Ltd, the company behind the popular Mc Currie spice brand, continues its commitment to community upliftment through the ‘Senehase Daeth’ initiative. The initiative’s third project focused on W/J Vidyadana Maha Vidyalaya in Kottawa, Pannipitiya, where the school received library books and library tables.

The ‘Senehase Daeth’ initiative, launched to support under-resourced schools, aims to promote equitable access to education. W/J Vidyadana Maha Vidyalaya was selected as the beneficiary based on these criteria. Varuna Karunaratne, Acting Chief Marketing Officer of Lanka Spice (Pvt) Ltd, stated, “Reading is a valuable habit that not only enriches knowledge but also empowers individuals to lead more fulfilling lives and contribute positively to society. As a socially responsible organization, we at Lanka Spice (Pvt) Ltd understands the value of education in shaping future generations.”

Principal K. M. S. Chandana of Vidyadana Maha Vidyalaya expressed gratitude, saying, “The support from Lanka Spice is a lifeline for our students. It will significantly improve the quality of education they receive, allowing them to thrive in an environment that previously lacked essential resources.”

Emphasizing the company’s long-term vision, Karunaratne further stated, “In line with our commitment, we will continue to support the educational development of Sri Lankan schoolchildren. Through our ‘Senehase Daeth’ initiative, we aim to further expand our efforts in promoting social welfare and community well-being. By fostering a love for reading and learning, we hope to contribute to building a more informed and responsible society.”

Lanka Spice plans to further expand the ‘Senehase Daeth’ initiative with a series of forward-thinking projects focused on sustainable educational development. The company also plans to introduce mentorship programs, partnering with schools to provide industry knowledge and help students build essential life and career skills.

Founded in 1984, Lanka Spice continues to be a leader in the spice industry through its Mc Currie brand, synonymous with high-quality spices and herbs in Sri Lanka. Through the ‘Senehase Daeth’ initiative, the company is committed to making a lasting positive impact on the education sector and the future of Sri Lankan youth.
