Polycrome Electrical Industries (Pvt) Ltd — a pioneering name in Sri Lanka’s electrical manufacturing sector — proudly celebrates 45 years of dedicated service, innovation, and excellence. Since its humble beginnings in 1980 under the visionary leadership of Mr. D.W. Paranavithana, Polycrome has grown to become a trusted household name and a symbol of quality and safety in Sri Lanka’s electrical industry.

A Legacy Built on Innovation
From its inception, Polycrome has been a trailblazer, introducing groundbreaking products that transformed the local electrical landscape. The company revolutionized the market with the long-lasting plastic switch and socket mounting box, a superior alternative to traditional wooden versions. Other milestones include the introduction of Sri Lanka’s first plastic MCB enclosures, white ceiling roses, and cable management systems — all proudly designed and manufactured on home soil.

Strength in People and Partnerships
Today, Polycrome proudly employs over 300 Sri Lankans across its main facilities in Boralesgamuwa, Homagama, and Mathugama. It also maintains an extensive island-wide sales network with 45 distributors serving over 10,000 dealers. This expansive presence underscores the company’s commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality electrical solutions to every corner of the island.

A Journey of Accolades and Certifications
Throughout its 45-year journey, Polycrome has upheld the highest standards in safety, quality, and innovation. The company holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, multiple SLS certifications, and recognition from prestigious industry bodies such as the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) Awards.

As part of the 45th-anniversary celebrations, Polycrome hosted its flagship Achievers Night 2024–2025 Distributor Convention & Star Awarding Ceremony on 17 May 2025 at the Waters Edge Ballroom, Colombo. The grand event brought together the company’s top performers, business partners, and management to honour outstanding contributions.

The keynote speaker, Mr. Chaaminda Kumarasiri — a distinguished financial expert and corporate trainer renowned for his insights and leadership within the business community — commended Polycrome’s proud 45-year legacy. In his address, he emphasized that the company’s consistent commitment to quality has been the cornerstone of its long-standing success. Mr. Kumarasiri also extended his heartfelt wishes for Polycrome’s continued growth, expressing confidence in its aspiration to become one of Sri Lanka’s leading export brands and a powerful ambassador of the nation’s excellence and innovation on the global stage.

The evening featured six award segments celebrating the achievements of top distributors, corporate sales performers, and outstanding dealers. Among the most coveted honours were the prestigious Chairman’s Award, Best Distributor of the Year, Corporate Sales Achiever of the Year, Best Area Sales Manager of the Year, and Best Area Sales Executive Awards. Sales personnel were also honoured with cash awards, while distributors received certificates, underscoring their exceptional performance and outstanding contributions.

Looking Ahead
“As we mark this remarkable milestone, we look back on our journey with immense pride,” said Mr. D.W. Paranavithana, Chairman of Polycrome. “For 45 years, Polycrome has stood at the forefront of innovation, delivering trusted solutions rooted in the strength of local craftsmanship. Our success reflects our unwavering dedication and steadfast belief in the power of high-quality, locally manufactured products. Looking to the future, we are driven by a bold vision — to take Sri Lankan excellence to the world and emerge as a global leader in energy-efficient, safe, and premium-quality solutions.”

Future initiatives include expanding the product portfolio with smarter, energy-efficient solutions, digitising operations to enhance customer engagement, and deepening the company’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
