Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa and businesswoman Janaki Siriwardena, a former Executive Director of the Krrish Group, have been further remanded until October 23 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court over an alleged bribery case linked to the company.

The court rejected the bail application filed on behalf of Siriwardena, while Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama stated that the decision on Rajapaksa’s bail application was not yet ready and would be delivered at the next hearing, Ada Derana reported.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) arrested the two suspects over allegations of soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 70 million in connection with the affairs of the Krrish Group.
