National People’s Power (NPP) member of the Vadamarachchi South-West Pradeshiya Sabha, Chandrakumar Ganesharoopan, has resigned from his position following his arrest over an alleged attack on the residence of a retired public official and damage caused to its CCTV system.
Ganesharoopan was arrested by Nelliady Police in Jaffna on August 29 following a complaint and was later released on police bail.
He was due to appear before the Point Pedro Magistrate’s Court today (August 31).
