Over 2,000 Dengue Cases in 2025, Gampaha District Leads in Infections

More than 2,000 dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka so far this year, the latest statistics from the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) showed.

The NDCU stated that 2,352 cases have been recorded with no fatalities reported to date.

The Gampaha District accounted for the highest number of cases, with 374 infections. Colombo recorded the second-highest number with 304 cases, followed by Galle with 169, and Kandy with 134.

In comparison, last year saw a total of 49,887 dengue cases and 24 fatalities across the country, as per the NDCU’s data.
