In an era where corporate social responsibility (CSR) is often reduced to symbolic efforts, Asia Asset Finance PLC is charting a new course, proving that true leadership is measured by impact, integrity, and involvement. With the launch of ‘Asia Asset Finance Clean Sri Lanka – Hetata Atak,’ the company has set in motion an ambitious, island-wide initiative that goes far beyond donations—it delivers real solutions to pressing issues, including pollution, water scarcity, deforestation, and human-wildlife conflict.

As the only Sri Lankan subsidiary of global finance giant Muthoot Finance, Asia Asset Finance holds a Fitch A+ rating, is backed by a 54-year legacy, and serves communities through a network of over 100 branches. Recognised as a Great Place to Work, the company’s ethical values, leadership excellence, and community focus are at the heart of its operations. Through ‘Hetata Atak,’ Asia Asset Finance is implementing region-specific CSR interventions that are both strategic and sustainable.

  • In the Western Province, neglected public transport centres are being renovated, cleaned, and modernised, directly improving the daily lives of commuters.
  • In the Southern Province, drug awareness and prevention programmes for schoolchildren and parents aim to protect future generations.
  • In the North-Western Province, farmers receive training in sustainable pesticide use, and strategically placed waste bins help curb improper chemical disposal—preserving land and water resources for future generations.
  • In the Northern Province, sustainable clean water supply systems are being established to address a fundamental human need with long-term solutions.
  • In Uva Province, the human-elephant conflict is being tackled with beehive fences—a humane solution that deters elephants while generating income for villagers through honey production.
  • Along the Eastern coastline, beach cleanups and strategically placed waste bins are restoring marine ecosystems and preventing pollution.
  • In Sabaragamuwa Province, reforestation efforts with rare, eco-friendly plants are revitalising biodiversity and combating climate change.
  • At Sri Pada, a comprehensive cleanup initiative has been carried out, with waste bins placed along pilgrimage paths to promote responsible waste disposal.

This bold CSR campaign is more than just a project—it is a nationwide movement. CEO Rajiv Gunawardana affirms this vision:

“”A corporation’s success is not measured solely by its profits but by the impact it leaves on society. ‘Hetata Atak’ is not just a project—it is a movement, a promise to Sri Lanka that we will stand by its people, its environment, and its future. We believe in action, not just words, because when Sri Lanka prospers, we all prosper.”
