Iran has intensified attacks on United States assets across the Gulf following the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and up to 40 senior Iranian officials, deepening a rapidly expanding regional conflict.

Iranian strikes have reportedly killed one person in Bahrain, while authorities in Iraq and Kuwait confirmed further raids targeting US-linked facilities.

Israel said it was striking at the “heart of Tehran”, expanding its military campaign after Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets into northern Israel from Lebanon. The Israeli military also confirmed attacks inside Lebanon in response to the cross-border fire.

Iranian state media reported that Israeli air strikes killed at least 20 people in Tehran’s Niloofar Square and caused significant damage to Gandhi Hospital and a nearby police building.

In retaliation, Iranian missile strikes hit Israeli cities including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. At least nine people were reported killed in the central Israeli city of Beit Shemesh.

US President Donald Trump warned that operations against Iran would continue until Washington’s objectives were achieved, vowing to avenge the deaths of three American soldiers.

The escalating exchanges mark one of the most serious confrontations in the region in recent years, with multiple countries now directly affected by the widening hostilities.
