Former Minister Rohitha Bogollagama was ordered to be remanded until the conclusion of his trial after being produced before the Colombo High Court on Wednesday (7).
The order was issued by Colombo High Court No. 11 after Bogollagama was arrested by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) earlier in the day.
He was arrested on an open warrant issued by the Colombo High Court in connection with a corruption case filed by the Bribery Commission.
The warrant had been issued after Bogollagama failed to appear before court on several occasions in relation to the case.
High Court Judge Rashantha Godawela ordered that the former Minister be remanded until the conclusion of the trial after considering submissions made by the Bribery Commission.
