Sinopec Energy Lanka (Pvt) Ltd marked its second corporate anniversary with a vibrant Family Day celebration in Hambantota, the birthplace of its operations in Sri Lanka. Since entering the Sri Lankan market in 2019 through fuel oil operations in Hambantota, Sinopec has steadily expanded its presence and emerged as a key player in the country’s energy sector. Around 75 employees and their families participated in the weekend event, which featured team-building exercises, children’s art competitions, and commemorations of shared milestones. The event also underscored Sinopec’s commitment to localisation. Over the past two years, Sri Lankan employees have come to represent nearly 70% of the company’s workforce.
