Sinopec Energy Lanka (Pvt) Ltd marked its second corporate anniversary with a vibrant Family Day celebration in Hambantota, the birthplace of its operations in Sri Lanka. The two-day event brought together employees and their families, highlighting the company’s people-focused culture and its continued commitment to sustainable growth and community integration.

Since entering the Sri Lankan market in 2019 through fuel oil operations in Hambantota, Sinopec has steadily expanded its presence and emerged as a key player in the country’s energy sector. The anniversary celebration served as a moment of reflection on the company’s journey and vision for the future.

Around 75 employees and their families participated in the weekend event, which featured team-building exercises, children’s art competitions, and commemorations of shared milestones. These activities showcased Sinopec’s efforts to strengthen internal relationships and honour the families who have played a vital role in its success.

The event also underscored Sinopec’s commitment to localisation. Over the past two years, Sri Lankan employees have come to represent nearly 70% of the company’s workforce. Through its extensive Filling Station Dealer Network, Sinopec has built partnerships and developed a corporate culture that is closely aligned with local values. This approach reflects the company’s goal of not only being a leading energy provider but also a responsible corporate citizen contributing to national development.

The steady growth of Sinopec over the past two years is a testament to the dedication of its pioneering Hambantota team and its expanding network of local partners. The company continues to foster an inclusive work environment where employees and their families are at the heart of its success.

Looking ahead, Sinopec Energy Lanka remains focused on its long-term development in Sri Lanka, with plans to enhance community engagement and contribute further to the nation’s energy security. By balancing business growth with cultural integration and strong local partnerships, Sinopec aims to play a vital role in Sri Lanka’s evolving energy landscape.
