Defending champions Sri Lanka Women secured their place in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 final with a tense four-wicket victory over Pakistan Women at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Chasing 131 for victory, Sri Lanka recovered from a dramatic top-order collapse to reach 134 for six in 18.4 overs, setting up a title clash against India.
Pakistan, electing to bat first, struggled against a disciplined Sri Lankan bowling attack led by left-arm spinner Chamudi Praboda, who returned figures of two for 25.
Captain Fatima Sana rescued Pakistan after they slipped to 68 for four, scoring a fighting 47 off 36 deliveries to guide her side to 130 for five in 20 overs.
Sri Lanka’s chase began disastrously as Pakistan’s bowlers tore through the top order, reducing the defending champions to 35 for four inside the powerplay. Captain Chamari Athapaththu was among those dismissed early.
However, Harshitha Samarawickrama and Kavisha Dilhari revived the innings with a crucial partnership under pressure. Samarawickrama struck a composed 36, while Dilhari contributed an attacking 33 to put Sri Lanka back in control.
Despite losing two more wickets late in the chase, Sri Lanka’s lower order held its nerve and sealed victory with eight deliveries remaining.
Pakistan captain Sana was named Player of the Match despite her side’s defeat after producing an impressive all-round performance. She followed her 47 with bowling figures of four for 38.
Sri Lanka will now face India in the final as they seek to retain their continental title.
