Appeal Court Postpones Hearing on Suresh Sallay’s PTA Detention Petition

Former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director General Suresh Sallay has filed a petition before the Court of Appeal seeking a writ order to invalidate the detention order issued under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) following his arrest by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The Court of Appeal today ordered that the matter be taken up again on July 10 for further consideration.

The petition was taken up before a bench comprising Court of Appeal President Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya and Justice Priyantha Fernando.

After considering the submissions, the court fixed the petition for further hearing on July 10.
