Two Chinese nationals wanted in connection with the assault of three Chinese nationals at the Colombo Port City and the subsequent abduction and murder of one of them have been arrested by the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) in Sigiriya.

The incident occurred on 23 July following a clash between two groups of Chinese nationals at the Port City premises. During the incident, one Chinese national was allegedly abducted and later killed. His body was subsequently recovered from Eheliyagoda.

Several suspects had previously been arrested and remanded in connection with the case, while the CCD continued investigations to trace other suspects believed to have fled following the killing.

Police had earlier sought public assistance to locate three Chinese nationals wanted in connection with the crime.

Accordingly, two of the wanted suspects were arrested yesterday (28) while hiding at a restaurant in Sigiriya, Police said.

The suspects are due to be produced before court today (29), while further investigations are underway.
