• To launch a world-class secure storage facility in Seeduwa, Colombo
• To introduce advanced information management, cybersecurity, and payments solutions for banking, government, and enterprise sectors

Writer Corporation, one of India’s leading business groups, today announced the launch of its subsidiary, Writer Business Services Pvt. Ltd., and the commencement of its operations in Sri Lanka. The expansion reflects Sri Lanka’s strategic importance in Writer’s regional growth plans and the country’s transition towards a more digitally enabled and highly regulated financial ecosystem.

Sri Lanka’s continued focus on strengthening regulatory frameworks, digital infrastructure, and financial systems is reshaping how institutions across banking, government, and enterprise sectors operate. There is an amplified emphasis on secure, compliant, and resilient information and transaction environments that can scale in line with regulatory and business expectations. Writer’s entry into Sri Lanka aligns with these priorities, bringing global experience and a partnership-driven engagement model.

As part of its launch, Writer will establish a secure records and information storage facility in Seeduwa, Colombo. Designed to meet global benchmarks for security, compliance, and disaster resilience, the facility will support banks, financial institutions, government entities, and large enterprises in managing physical and digital information throughout its lifecycle.

In addition to information management, Writer introduces established capabilities in integrated payment services aimed at modernising transaction infrastructure in the banking and financial services sector. These offerings are focused on ensuring availability, transaction continuity, and transparency across critical payment channels that support institutional reliability and consumer trust.

Writer’s digital payments solutions in Sri Lanka include end-to-end ATM and self-service terminal outsourcing, integrated channel ownership and managed services, field force management applications, payment and reconciliation platforms, and remote monitoring with near real-time reporting. These services are designed to improve uptime, strengthen governance, and enhance operational efficiency across payment networks, supporting the ongoing evolution of electronic and automated payment systems.

With an integrated portfolio spanning records and information management, business process outsourcing, cloud and digital services, data privacy, cybersecurity, and enterprise payments infrastructure, Writer supports institutions navigating regulatory changes, the digitisation of legacy environments, and rising operational and cyber risks.

Writer’s presence in Sri Lanka will enable closer collaboration with clients and on-ground delivery capabilities, while also supporting the development of Centres of Excellence in cybersecurity operations, SOC and NOC services, AI-led solutions, and payments operations and monitoring. The Sri Lankan operations will be built, led, and managed by Sri Lankan professionals, underscoring Writer’s long-term commitment to local talent development.

Commenting on the expansion, Satyamohan Yanambaka, CEO of Writer Global Services Pvt. Ltd., reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to Sri Lanka’s digital trajectory. “Writer’s entry into Sri Lanka reflects our belief that digital ambition in regulated environments must be supported by trust, sound governance, and strong execution. As institutions scale digital services, the reliability of information and payment systems, channel operations, and governance frameworks becomes increasingly important to public and institutional confidence. Our experience across information management, digital transformation, and enterprise payments enables us to support secure, large-scale financial ecosystems, with a clear commitment to building and leading these capabilities locally.”

Sri Lanka’s newly implemented Digital Personal Data Protection framework raises expectations on how personal and sensitive information must be secured and governed. Writer is positioned to support institutions in meeting these requirements through secure, compliant, and resilient information and payment operations, underpinned by a long-term partnership-focused approach.
