Udayakantha Warnasuriya, vetran Sri Lankan film director, producer and screen play writer[ who has made one of the land mark movies in Sri Lankan cinama history Gini Avi Saha Gini Keli, Bahubuthayo, Hiripoda Wassa and many more films is to present two new movies:Wassanaye Sanda and Madhura Charika.

'Wassanaye Sanda' A family film is to be played by Anup Ranasinghe, Suweenitha Weerasinghe, Anula Karunathilake, Ravindra Randeniya and Sreenath Maddumage. In this film Piyumi Hansamalee, Anjelo Sanjeew and Oshadhi Himasha are to make their debut roles in cinema. Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne, Sunil Wimalaweera and Kularatne Ariyawanse has penned the playback songs which are to be sung by Sunil Edirisinghe, Uresha Ravihari, Amal Perera, Abhiskeka Wimalaweera, Dumal Warnakulasuriya and Deshani Vithanage. Some of the scenes of this film shot in location in Australia.

Madhura Charika (Joyful Journeys) is a movie about Wilson Godamanne, an 85-year old former film actor, who lives with his son, daughter in law and two grandchildren in the picturesque hill country of Sri Lanka. It stars Hemasiri Liyanage in lead role along with Nalin Pradeep Uduwela, Madani Malwattage and Kumara Thirimadura. Music composed by Navaratne Gamage. Madura Charika's first ever screening held at the International Film Festival Colombo (IFFC) on 2015. The movie won Amsterdam Film Festival Grand Jury award.

Ayeshmanth Hettiarachchi handled camera for both movies. Both movies premiered in Australia this month.
