UPFA Colombo District Parliamentarian Thilanga Sumathipala's announcer today made a deadly blunder by thanking “Sharukh Khan“  for coming to Campbell Park to support the election campaign of President Rajapaksa. Interestingly, this remark was made in the presence of Salman Khan and his campaign partner Jacquline Fernandez, who arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday to support the Sri Lankan ruling party.

One can assume that it is just a careless mistake: but those who knew the nuances of Bollywood Cinema realized the gravity of Sumathipala’s mistake.

It was rumoured among Bollywood circles that there was a long-standing feud between Salman and Shahrukh Khan and they were not seeing eye-to-eye for a long time. On the other hand, Salman is known for his hotheadedness, not only on the silver screen but also in real life. Sumathipala’s blunder could have easily ‘prompted’ another episode of ‘Dabang’ during the UPFA rally at Campbell Park.

Therefore, the remark made by Sumathi's announcer irked certain top echelons of the government who were sitting alongside Salman khan at Campbell Park in Borella. Realizing the blunder he made, Sumathipala then apologized to Salman and corrected the mistake, immediately.
