Ranil Wickremesinghe Says Good Governance Front Aims To Capture Two Thirds Majority

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe stated that the United National Front for Good Governance was formed to obtain two thirds majority to fulfill the tasks undertaken to strengthen good governance.

Speaking at the signing of the MoU between different parties of the UNFGG this morning, Wickremesinghe said that the UNP party symbol was just a temporary mechanism for the alliance. Each party will have its own identity and has the freedom to act on their own in the coming parliament, he said.

Wickremesinghe also pointed out that the UNGFF has to be registered as a new political movement. However, new parties cannot be registered before the conclusion of the election, he pointed out.
