Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that the future UPFA government will introduce legislation to increase private sector salaries by Rs. 3000.

 

Answering a question at the Q & A session on his official Facebook page this morning, Rajapaksa said that the promise to increase private sector salary turned out to be a mere election gimmick of the present government.

 

Rajapaksa also said that the consent of the private sector employers is important to raise the salaries of the employees. He said that the UPFA government will give tax relief to employers to reduce their expenditure so that the salaries of the employees could be increased.
