Heavy traffic was reported at Town Hall area in Colombo due to a protest by Inter University Student's Federation near the University Grants Commission.

The students marched to the UGC from the Open University earlier in the day. They claim that the authorities are turning a blind eye towards the problems faced by the Open University students.

The Satyagraha campaign launched by IUSF at the Open University has marked 225 days.

Police closed off the Ward Place in anticipation of the protest gathering near UGC. Heavy security is imposed in the area.
