Yatinuwara Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Thusitha Kumara was arrested today for hoisting distorted national flags at a meeting in Yatinuwara recently.

 

The incident occurred on Monday ahead of the arrival of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the rally in Yatinuwara.

 

Meanwhile, several people claiming to be the former president’s security guards reportedly attempted to prevent the media from taking photographs of the flags before they were removed.

 

The organizers raised the flags without realizing its implications, the guards had claimed.
