Interim Order Sought To Prevent Premakeerthi De Alwis's Name Being Given To Road

Nirmala de Alwis, widow of popular artiste Preemakeerthi de Alwis filed a writ petition with the Court of Appeals today, seeking an interim order preventing Homagama PS from naming a road after her late husband.

The petitioner said that the Homagama  PS was planning to rename a road under the PS jurisdiction after her late husband’s name.

She added that no government made an attempt to reveal the truth behind her late husband’s death, which happened in 1989.

She also argued that all governments tried to obtain political advantages using her husband’s death and added that the Homagama PS was also making a similar attempt.
