Puttalam district Frontline Socialist party team leader Priyantha Warnakulasuriya Fernando was arrested for election law violations yesterday.

A candidate of the party, Saliya Lankathilaka was also arrested with Fernando.

They were arrested by Wanathavilluwa Police allegedly for campaigning using loudspeakers without prior permission.

Their vehicle and the sound equipment were also taken under police custody.
