Police To Enforce Speed Limits Strictly On 72 Roads From Today (FULL LIST OF ROADS)

Sri Lanka Police announced that cases will be filed on motorists violating speed limits on 72 main roads in the country, with effect from Today.

The Supreme Court had determined in an earlier case that speed limits should be notified on roads before legal action could be taken on motorists for speed limit violations. Due to the increasing number of accidents due to high speed, the Police, with the support of RDA, have now put sign boards indicating the speed limits in 72 roads.

Police said many of the outlined roads are A, AB and B category highways in urban areas.
