Major General Prasanna Silva has been replaced as the Colonel of the Commando Regiment by Brigadier Ralf Nugera, Army Spokesperson Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera said.

 

The change has been made by the Army Commander as a service requirement, Brigadier Jayaweera also said.

 

However, Major General Silva continues to function as the Military Liaison Officer of the Defence Ministry.
