Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair arrived in the island at 1.40pm from Katunayake Bandaranayake International Airport on board an Emirates flight.
His wife Cherie Booth and two of his children also arrived with him.
They went in a domestic flight to Anuradhapura, our reporter said from Katunayake BIA.
In late June, it was reported that Blair was due to arrive in Sri Lanka this month on a private visit. He is expected to remain in the island for two weeks.
