September 08, 2015

The Cabinet Minister of National Dialogue Mano Ganeshan stated that the Bodu Bala Sena was irrelevant as a 'dead animal' since it has been rejected by the Sinhalese people.

Speaking to BBC Sinhala Service, he pointed out that only around 20,000 people voted for the organization.

He added that as the Minister of National Dialogue, he would make every effort to wipe out racism and extremism from the country.

Speaking to 'BBC Sandeshaya' Ganeshan further said that for establishing long lasting national unity in the country, all kinds of extremism activities should be stopped. The 'Maithri-Ranil' National Government would not tolerate any activity which could be harmful for the unity between communities, he added.
