Pakistan-Sri Lanka Armed Forces Staff Talks Held In Colombo

The third round of the annual Armed Forces Staff Talks between Sri Lanka and Pakistan commenced on September 14, 2015, at the Office of the Chief of the Defence Staff, BMICH Colombo.

The Armed Forces Staff Talks were initiated in 2012 to promote professional and mutually beneficial relations between the Armed Forces of the two countries. The talks are designed to improve bilateral cooperation and understanding between the Armed Forces through direct and open exchange of facts on matters of mutual interest. The focus of the discussions extends to training, joint exercises, research and development and an array of military exchange programmes.

The Pakistani delegation led by Major General Iftikhar Ahmad Wyne comprises Commodore Zahid Akram, Air Commodore Shahjahan Sattar Khan, Air Commodore Farrukh Bashir Brigadier Amjad Ali Satti, and Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Nadeem.

The staff talks will conclude today.
