Matara District MP Buddhika Pathirana arrived at the CID today to give a statement.

He was asked to be present at the CID to give a statement on a recent claim he made regarding the supply of food to the armed forces.

Pathirana had claimed that there were serious malpractices regarding the contract to supply food to the armed forces.

He told media that he was summoned to be questioned as to how he obtained the documents regarding the alleged fraud. The police should focus on the fraud, not the one who reported it, he also stressed.
