A 48 year-old woman was murdered in the Kotakethana area this afternoon, Police Media Unit said.

According to the police, the incident has occurred at a time between 1.30pm and 3.10pm.

The Magisterial inquiry will be held on the murder.

Kotakethana was notorious for several murders during the last few years.
