All Ceylon Teacher's Union Files Petition On Behalf Of Kotadeniyawa Schoolboy Suspect

The All Ceylon Teachers’ Union Secretary Joseph Stalin today filed a petition with the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission against arresting a schoolboy over the murder of Kotadeniyawa toddler without proper evidence.

He has named the Chairperson of the National Child Protection Authority and several police officers including the Police Commissioner N.K Illangakoon, Kotadeniyawa OIC Sujith Udaya Kumara, ASP Jayantha Athukorarala and Gampaha Deputy Police Commissioner L.G Kularatne as respondents of the petition.

The Police was severely criticized for its conduct over the arrest of the 17-year-old schoolboy recently regarding the murder of a five-year-old girl in Kotadeniyawa.
