Sajin De Vass Gunawardena Allowed To Travel Abroad

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today allowed former UPFA MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena to travel abroad from October 25 to 30, releasing his passport temporarily.

The Magistrate allowed the release of Gunawardena's passport considering a request made by him. Gunawardena informed courts that he needs to visit Singapore for medical treatments.

His passport was released on two sureties of Rs. 10 million each by the Chief Magistrate.

The Magistrate also ordered Gunawardena to handover the passport upon his return.

Sajin de Vass Gunawardena's passport was impounded by the Colombo Chief Magistrate in March this year, regarding a case against him filed by the Bribery Commission. The case is fixed to be taken up on December 10.
