The Imaduwa-Kokmaduwa stretch of the Southern Expressway, which was closed this morning due to the possible threat of rock falls, was re-opened a short while ago.

The stretch was closed this morning since heavy rains created a threat of rock fall.

The expressway was recently partially closed close to 114km post with one side (from Matara towards Colombo) completely closed due to landslide threat. The Colombo to Matara side had been divided to allow bi-way traffic in the expressway.
