Three Customs Officers Further Remanded: Chief Jailer Summoned To Court

The three customs officers who were arrested when obtaining a bribe of Rs.125 million were further remanded until November 13 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.

Meanwhile, the lawyer of the second accused informed the court that he was not allowed to visit his client by the Chief Jailer at Kuruwita Prison, where the three individuals are being kept.

The Magistrate considered this information and issued notice to the Chief Jailer to appear before court on the day of the next hearing.

The three customs officers were arrested on October 15.
