A video statement by Iron Ranasinghe alias 'SF Loku', the main suspect in the Wasantha Soyza murder, has been released.

In this statement, Ranasinghe said that he had a personal grudge with Wasantha Soyza, the owner of a night club in Anuradhapura. However, he said that he wanted only to destroy the club.

Furthermore, he said that he was not aware of the identity of the murderer. "When I went there, I saw him on the ground" he said.

Wasantha Soyza, a Guinness Record holding karate champion, was murdered on the night of October 24 by a group of over 20 people who attacked his club. Three others were injured. Police arrested over 20 people in connection with the murder. The alleged mastermind, 'SF Loku' was arrested on Sunday, November 1.
