Two Lieutenants Colonel and a Staff Sargent of the Sri Lanka Army were remanded till November 23 by the Homagama Magistrate Court with regards to the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda.

They were being kept in detention along with several other army personnel.

The CID has initiated an investigation on the disappearance of Eknaligoda in 2010, based on a complaint by his wife Sandhya Eknaligoda. The CID took the detained military personnel to the Giritale Army Camp last month to conduct further investigations.

Prageeth Eknaligoda disappeared in January 2010, days before the January 26 Presidential Election.
